Our New Site & A Wedding

In addition to being our busiest year so far George has also managed to squeeze a wedding in.

One of the project George mentioned in a previous post, Great Waterways Outdoors, has been finished and made live. Cool Canals, the owners of Great Waterways Outdoors, are continuing to grow their business and we are told they have a lot of exciting projects coming up next year.

Teaching Resource Packs is now fully up and running. The husband and wife team create teaching resources to save time and help make lesson planning easier. They also have a business hiring out fancy dress costumes which has a medieval costumes sister site that we've been optimising for search engines.

We both grew up in Wolverley and manage the Wolverley church web site. It was the first site we had ever made back when we first started. This year the church site had a redesign.

Speaking of redesigns, our own web site has been redesigned, please take a look and do get in touch if you have any comments to make.

We do a lot of coding work for third parties so in addition to the projects I've mentioned here we have been kept very busy so far this year.

Congratulations to George & Donna Lloyd on their marriage. The day was brilliant, George looked presentable, Donna looked beautiful and everything went smoothly. My best man speech was well received and they both enjoyed their honeymoon. Back to work now George!

Good Weather & Bank Holidays

Wow, well April was a fine month for the UK wasn't it?! We hope those of you that had days off enjoyed them, bet you weren't expecting weather like this! We at DiGi-Masters were working hard throughout April of course, bringing our fantastic service to you all. Cheesy but true.

With all this dry and hot weather it's sad to see many wild fires destroying so much nature and some homes & businesses - perhaps now is a good time to have a quick think about your fire protection - where is your nearest extinguisher? Can you use it on electrics? What about your smoke alarms? Risk zones? Equipment testing? How about you let Alex Graham @ Crimson Fire Risk Services make sure you are safe and secure.

Busy 2011

Well, 2011 has been busy and we're only 7 weeks in. Interesting new projects with Cardsave, Stay Clean & Hygrozyme coming up. Our secure case tracking system DiGi-SecureTrak is back under development and Great Waterways Outdoors will be live soon! Also look out for Little Party Pieces and Teaching Resource Packs coming soon.

We've also got a new server on it's way and a new Internet connection currently being installed - urgent expansion of our capacity!

Also congratulations to me on my engagement, one half of the DiGi-Masters partners getting married this August. George Lloyd & Donna Galvin wedding 2011.

Topical So Why Not, IPv6 Bandwagon

Check out the new widget on the right of this page, thanks to recent media coverage there will be MDs all over the country panicking and asking their IT staff questions they can't answer (in layman's terms anyway!). IPv4 is running out - we've known that for years and years but now it really is running out, a recent milestone showed that there are no large blocks of IPv4 addresses left.

Here at DiGi-Masters we will ensure that we are on the ball with this one, we already have IPv6 equipment and most of our servers already have IPv6 addresses - albeit local ones, a public IPv6 address isn't easy to come by at the moment in the UK!

Just to confirm to you all out there, when the IPv4 addresses run out it doesn't mean the Internet stops working, it will continue to work exactly as it does now. What it does mean is that there will be no unique addresses for service providers to provide to their customers - forcing them to start giving out IPv6 ones. If you are just a standard Internet user with no technical interest then don't worry about it, you wont notice any difference - all the IT workers around the country will though!!

That busy period we knew was coming is in full flow now so another short blog post coming up!

Look out for Great Waterways Outdoors coming in the next couple of months - an exciting project that one. Herefordshire Greenlinks has recently been released after a complete rebuild and redesign. We have more new projects but I'll keep them for our Christmas post :) Of course we've been working away keeping our existing clients happy too with the usual technical support, website upgrades and some search engine optimisation.

World Championship Snooker, New Servers & Lots Of Work = Late Nights!

Congratulations to Neil Robertson, the new snooker world champion for 2010 - well done to Neil, the first overseas player in several decades.

As for new servers, we have a new Debian Linux Cluster, a few late nights and if I'm honest, a few swear words too - it's running well and once our new connection is linked up we will start piling work onto it.

New projects since our last post include a new sister site for Medieval Fancy Dress Costumes, lots of work on an improved version of the Waterways Directory for Cool Canals and several others thanks to our new relationship with Brand Creative Media in the Wolverhampton area.

Time Flies At DiGi-Masters

Hi All,

Time really is flying - July our last blog post! After nearly 5 years we might finally have realised that our work is seasonal - every summer we manage to catch-up and then as soon as autumn hits we are back to full capacity. This autumn "silly season" landed early for us this year with September proving a very busy month and October even busier.

Some of our latest projects include optimisation work for our Costume Hire client where we have quadrupled their website traffic in just 2 months and a complete site rebuild incorporating a Waterways Directory for Cool Canals Guides [live soon!], plus some new sites coming up...

Hi All,

It does seem as though the "credit crunch" may be showing signs of ease which can only be a good thing - which in some ways the "credit crunch" has been too. We are still having issues with some bad debtors and have been very lenient so far in 2009 given the economy but never a shortage of work for DiGi-Masters which can only be a good thing.

What have we been up to since the last post.. DiGi-SecureTrak, SeekER, an Equity Release Fact Find system, a search/email/community portal, Cool Canals, to name but a few - busy busy busy.

A positive start to 2009

We have had a good start to 2009, we have picked up a few new clients and also started some projects of our own. One such project has been the creation of a web directory for independent financial advisers and solicitors specialising in equity release. The site has been growing steadily in popularity and aims to be a respected resource for information about equity release. Visitors to the site will be able to find independent financial advisers and legal professionals who are able to deal with equity release cases, both types of professional are required to complete an equity release scheme.

Snow & Networks

We have snow on the ground and it's still October and the "Credit Crunch" is still all around us but we at DiGi-Masters are still busy as usual!

Much of our work since my previous entry has been for existing clients although we have release one new site for Anthony O'Callaghan, the recently released Complete Costumes website built by DiGi-Masters has been rapidly expanding with our client's costume portfolio and as such has rocketed on search engines giving them a large influx of continually rising traffic within a few weeks. Keep an eye out for a new large website in development called seekER..

We have also upgraded our network capacity this month and will be upgrading some essential network equipment during November.

Summer Didn't Arrive! (Again)

Well so much for summer!

We are as busy as usual, mostly on projects that we cannot talk about just yet.. projects we can talk about include Complete Costumes which is a newly released database driven website built by DiGi-Masters - it is currently being populated by the client and should soon have the best part of 1,000 quality costumes available for hire online. Our DiGi-Mails web-based, fully automated email marketing system has undergone it's final testing and modifications, several mailshots have been successfully sent out for our clients. We have of course been busy keeping our clients happy and doing upgrades to existing projects but I wont bore you with the details!

Our next blog post will hopefully include details of some of our secretive projects such as our work on equity release (aka lifetime mortgages) and long term care (aka annuities) with one of our clients... watch this space..

Summer Is Here (Almost!)

Hi All,

Summer is officially here and everyone is off on their holidays, lucky them! We at DiGi-Masters have been busy as usual since the new tax year took effect and have been working on a couple of large & complex sites plus the usual work for existing clients.

As some of our clients may know there are 2 equal partners who own DiGi-Masters.com, one lives in Wolverley and the other in Cofton Hackett. The Wolverley website is fairly well established and we felt that Cofton Hackett also deserved a village website, we just need to find the time and information to populate it!

Other work we have been spending our time on has been the development of a web based email marketing system, we have unsurprisingly named it "DiGi-Mails", this system is fully working but could do with some final tweaks and testing before we unleash it. Please note that this is not a spam tool - we despise spam as much as everyone and do not wish to contribute to it, this system is for our existing and future clients to send directed email marketing to their existing clients. We have also spent a decent chunk of time on our secure case tracking system - DiGi-SecureTrak - which is becoming an increasingly feature packed system without becoming complicated to use as many other systems can do when they have as many features as this does.

We have been very busy as usual, some recent projects to note are work behind-the-scenes for usedcarworld.co.uk and a new site live for Harper Dressage - we, as usual, have lots going on that we can't tell you about just yet.

2008 Update

Well 2008 is well under way now as are a several new projects for DiGi-Masters. We have mostly been working on custom software applications this year for a couple of our regular clients - I can't go into detail but subjects include used vehicles, finance and metalwork/engineering.

Aside from our software projects work has been continuing with several web projects including a new site redesign for Hardwicks Landscape Centre, some help for PFC Group, Star Loans and Lifetime Mortgages, a complete redesign for The Robert Bloomfield Society (changes have not yet been made live as I write this). We have also been working very hard on our DiGi-SecureTrak case tracking system to make it easier for our users.

We have had an eventful time over the past couple of months with some complex work. For now there is not much to say just that we have been developing several software applications for clients and have some exciting new sites on the horizon.

Before I go I must point out that more than one of us here at DiGi-Masters.com are avid snooker fans and during this years Grand Prix tournament we noticed the severe lack of decent scoring websites for the now quite popular Round Robin format. This format really does need well displayed group tables and not just match results, we also feel that the standard formats could perhaps do with some better displayed scores so when we get soem free time we will be working on a new snooker scores website.

DiGi-Masters Summer Developments

This UK summer has been terrible for weather but not terrible for our developments!

DiGi-SecureTrak is now fully fuctional and available to all - we have also been working on adpating this system for other financial uses aswell as loans, we have been working with Advice On Money to create a system for equity release related finance. We have implemented much more functionality to the system and have restructured the system code so that we can now create secure case tracking for any type of case removing the financial sector limitations we had before.

Other areas we have been working with are further property related companies expanding our experience in the property web site field (of course these sites are all dynamic, database driven sites with complete control for the clients). A new field we are currently dealing with is used car sales - the project is far too sensitive for me to give any more details that this though! Webshare-Telecare.com is another site we have created recently expanding our expertise and contacts in the public sector, specifically with telecare and disability related.

I could go on all day with more information but will leave it at that!

New Tax Year

We've had an eventful start to 2007 with several new sites created including www.annhammond.co.uk who have complete control over their website using a secure administration section that we developed for them. We have also been working further on our site including a new mobile version.

We have again been working with Star Loans and Finance who we have assisted since their formation, currently we are working with their website to enhance its search engine rankings and site compatibilty.

Skype, a very popular voice telephone system that utilises the Internet to provide worldwide calls has a new customer - digi-masters. We can now be contacted through Skype by calling username 'digi-masters' or by telephone using our local number, (0121) 288 5161.

Another year has been and gone and DiGi-Masters have been working hard to expand our services with many exciting new developments. Our new web site is just around the corner - watch this space!

Some of the new web sites that we have created include www.bissellwood-equestrian.co.uk which is an equestrian centre located in the West Midlands, the site includes a complete administration section allowing the owners to update most features of their site themselves. We have also created www.jft-traditional-archery.co.uk, a small web site providing information about a local archery supplier.

We have mainly been concentrating on our new web site at www.digi-masters.co.uk and www.digi-masters.com but also on our new case tracking system DiGi-SecureTrak ( www.digi-securetrak.co.uk )

One of the two remaining new servers has been created, 'BackupServer1' is now running live on a separate network to our secure server performing backups, mirroring and redundancy.

2006 has started for DiGi-Masters with a bang!

We have completed part of our major server upgrade and now boast a dedicated 128bit SSL Server ( secure.digi-masters.net ) - running on some very overpowered hardware. We also have 2 further new servers awaiting configuration, watch this space.

DiGi-Masters has created a new site: www.motiv8r.co.uk which acts as a sister site to a site we made a while back, www.itsa-knockout.co.uk Both sites now compliment each other although both still have small changes to be made still..

Wolverley Parish Council conducted a paper-based survey of the village and DiGi-Masters agreed to process and collate those forms into a digital, analysable format. The results will be available over the next few months and will likely be found at www.wolverley.org.uk.
