A little siesta..

Hi All,

Ok, so it's been about 2 years since the last blog post, that doesn't mean that we've been sleeping - quite the opposite and the blog suffered. Let's face it - it's not the most riveting of blogs anyway! We'll try to steer it back on track and post some quarterly news for anyone that is looking.

Right, so what's happening..  we've got a couple of new servers in our arsenal, both using SPDY on HTTPS sites, which offers vast speed improvements especially on mobile devices and slow connections. With a dedicated server manager we are able provide services like these that many general web hosts cannot or will not consider. We also now utilise two Raspberry Pi machines - they really are fantastic bits of kit for their price and while not suitable for fast paced high demand server tasks they make excellent servers for more mundane tasks. Personally their largest benefit is Eco-friendliness - with such low power usage they don't cost the earth to run.

Websites, that is what we do, many have been built and upgraded since our last post, complete costumes - costume hire had an overhaul and one soon to go live is www.alexandraharpermillinery.com, we've also made a lot of improvements to our financial case tracking system and also our email marketing solution though both need some work doing on their websites!

Other news, Bitcoins! Wow! Have they made it to the public eye or what! Four years ago the currency was born, the genesis block they call it, today it stands at almost £1billion worth of coins in use. If only we were a bit earlier in adopting it, some people and some companies have done very well by having faith in the system. After much research, we too have complete faith in the system as a viable worldwide currency void of any government ties - allowing it to be a truly free currency, the people's currency. We accept Bitcoins. We own Bitcoins. We assist in the running of the Bitcoin system (they call that mining).

That's all for now folks..
DiGi-Masters.com LLP.  (oh yes! we are also now an LLP, company number OC373865)

Our New Site & A Wedding

In addition to being our busiest year so far George has also managed to squeeze a wedding in.

One of the project George mentioned in a previous post, Great Waterways Outdoors, has been finished and made live. Cool Canals, the owners of Great Waterways Outdoors, are continuing to grow their business and we are told they have a lot of exciting projects coming up next year.

Teaching Resource Packs is now fully up and running. The husband and wife team create teaching resources to save time and help make lesson planning easier. They also have a business hiring out fancy dress costumes which has a medieval costumes sister site that we've been optimising for search engines.

We both grew up in Wolverley and manage the Wolverley church web site. It was the first site we had ever made back when we first started. This year the church site had a redesign.

Speaking of redesigns, our own web site has been redesigned, please take a look and do get in touch if you have any comments to make.

We do a lot of coding work for third parties so in addition to the projects I've mentioned here we have been kept very busy so far this year.

Congratulations to George & Donna Lloyd on their marriage. The day was brilliant, George looked presentable, Donna looked beautiful and everything went smoothly. My best man speech was well received and they both enjoyed their honeymoon. Back to work now George!

Good Weather & Bank Holidays

Wow, well April was a fine month for the UK wasn't it?! We hope those of you that had days off enjoyed them, bet you weren't expecting weather like this! We at DiGi-Masters were working hard throughout April of course, bringing our fantastic service to you all. Cheesy but true.

With all this dry and hot weather it's sad to see many wild fires destroying so much nature and some homes & businesses - perhaps now is a good time to have a quick think about your fire protection - where is your nearest extinguisher? Can you use it on electrics? What about your smoke alarms? Risk zones? Equipment testing? How about you let Alex Graham @ Crimson Fire Risk Services make sure you are safe and secure.

Lots more I could say but I'm tired right now so until next time, ta-rar-a-bit.

George.

Busy 2011

Well, 2011 has been busy and we're only 7 weeks in. Interesting new projects with Cardsave, Stay Clean & Hygrozyme coming up. Our secure case tracking system DiGi-SecureTrak is back under development and Great Waterways Outdoors will be live soon! Also look out for Little Party Pieces and Teaching Resource Packs coming soon.

We've also got a new server on it's way and a new Internet connection currently being installed - urgent expansion of our capacity!

Also congratulations to me on my engagement, one half of the DiGi-Masters partners getting married this August. George Lloyd & Donna Galvin wedding 2011.
